The Sana’a University Council, at its fourth regular meeting for the 1448 AH academic year (2026–2027), approved a number of decisions concerning academic affairs, graduate studies, student affairs, and faculty members.
The Council, chaired by Sana’a University Rector Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, approved the results of 28 doctoral researchers and 46 master’s researchers, in addition to the results of 23 students enrolled in PG diploma programs across a number of the University’s faculties and scientific and research centers.
The meeting, attended by the University’s vice rectors, the rector's assistants, and deans of faculties at the University’s headquarters in the capital, Sana’a, also approved the refund of registration fees paid by a number of students in some faculties who were compelled to withdraw during the first semester due to personal circumstances.
With regard to faculty members, the Council approved decisions concerning the appointment, tenure, academic status adjustment, and academic promotion of 23 faculty members across a number of faculties and scientific centers. It also approved hourly-based contracts for 27 faculty members in a number of faculties, including the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, and Faculty of Education and Humanities - Arhab.
The Council further approved granting students enrolled in master’s and doctoral programs who passed away before defending their theses or dissertations the respective academic degree, provided that the thesis or dissertation is ready for defense and that the Graduate Studies Council approves the award.
The Council also approved a non-specialists’ diploma program at the Faculty of Science. Besides, it approved the title of the qualification program “Improvement and Qualification Diploma” for those required to complete either an Improvement Diploma or a Non-Specialists’ Diploma in various faculties and centers.
During the meeting, the Council discussed a number of issues related to academic affairs, graduate studies, student affairs, and the affairs of the University’s centers and adopted the appropriate decisions.
At the outset of the meeting, the Council reviewed and approved the minutes of its previous session. .
