The MA defense was held on Monday, October 5, 2026‎‎.

The MA Viva-voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:

• Assoc. Prof. Thabit Saleh Saleh Dhafran – Amran University – External Examiner and Chair.

• Prof. Abdullah Ahmed Hamzah Al-Nahari – Sana’a University – Supervisor and Committee Member.

• Assist. Prof. Taqiya Hassan Abdullah Fadael – Sana’a University – Internal Examiner and Committee Member.

The thesis aimed to analyze the objections raised by Yahya ibn Hamzah Al-Alawi against earlier grammarians in a number of grammatical issues related to definitions, syntactic structures, reasoning, and other matters.

The study showed that Yahya ibn Hamzah possessed profound theoretical foundations that enabled him to reorganize grammatical branches and formulate grammatical rules precisely. It also highlighted his critical approach in formulating objections to a number of grammarians and demonstrated that these objections represent a manifestation of intellectual trends and a form of criticism that deepens and refines grammatical theory.

The researcher recommended continuing research into Yemeni intellectual heritage and highlighting the contributions of Yemeni scholars in the linguistic and literary fields, as well as undertaking further research and study of grammatical works to enrich the Yemeni and Arab scholarly libraries in general.

The thesis defense was attended by faculty members, researchers, students, and interested participants as well as the researcher's colleagues and family members.
