The Academic Council of Sana’a University today held its third regular meeting for the 1448 AH/2026 academic year, chaired by Prof. Ibrahim Ahmed Al-Mutaa, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Chair of the Council, with the attendance of council members.


At the outset of the meeting, Prof. Al-Mutaa stressed the importance of continuing efforts to improve academic performance and enhance the quality of the educational process in ways that strengthen the University’s academic mission and role while keeping pace with development requirements across various academic and research fields.


The Council reviewed the items on its agenda and approved the minutes of its previous meeting. It also discussed a number of academic and organizational issues related to the educational process, as well as mechanisms for developing academic and research performance across the University’s faculties and centers.


The Council approved five academic promotions and six academic status adjustments, in addition to approving permanent tenure for eight faculty members, as part of efforts to support academic stability, enhance the efficiency of the University’s academic staff, and encourage the scientific and professional development of faculty members.


The Council also discussed a number of other academic, research, and organizational matters and adopted the appropriate decisions, contributing to institutional development, enhancing the quality of education and scientific research, and further improving academic performance at Sana’a University..
