Sana’a University Rector Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti today inspected the University’s Central Laboratories Center for Scientific Research and Community Service  to review its scientific and training activities and follow up on the first training course for technical staff and researchers on specialized chemical analysis equipment.


The Rector and his accompanying delegation were received by the Center’s Director, Dr. Mansour Al-Dhubhani, Deputy Director Dr. Fatima Murshid, and a number of the Center’s faculty members.


The training program is being delivered by trainers and specialists from the Yemeni Organization for Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control; the General Directorate of Plant Protection at the Ministry of Agriculture; and the Supreme Board of Drugs at the Ministry of Health, in addition to specialists from some of the University faculties Science, including Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Pharmacy, and Faculty of Engineering.


The course follows the completion of the installation of the specialized analytical equipment provided to the University through a grant from the Government of Japan via the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The initiative aims to strengthen the infrastructure for scientific research and expand the use of the University’s available laboratory facilities.


At the outset of the meeting, the Rector welcomed the trainers, participants, and Center staff, stressing the University’s commitment to activating the Central Laboratories Center and strengthening its role in making specialized analytical equipment available to researchers from within and outside the University, as well as providing scientific services that contribute to serving the community.


He urged the trainers to intensify the training program to maximize the scientific benefits for participants and enable them to utilize these capabilities in support of scientific research and undergraduate and graduate students, while enhancing laboratory services across various fields, including agriculture and health. He noted that these efforts contribute to development initiatives and the advancement of scientific research in Yemen.


The Rector also commended the efforts of the Center’s administration to develop its operations and make effective use of its equipment and facilities, emphasizing the importance of utilizing available resources in ways that strengthen the University’s role in scientific research and community service.
