Under the patronage of Prof. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, Sana’a University Rector, the Deanship of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences will host the second event in its monthly surgical oncology series on Thursday, October 22, 2026, titled "Breast Cancer Scientific Event 2." Organized in coordination with the Yemeni Council for Medical Specializations, the Supreme Medical Council, and the Oncology Center, the event underscores the university’s commitment to advancing continuing medical education and enhancing surgical practices in accordance with international standards.
This specialized academic series serves as a high-level forum featuring leading specialists and consultants across surgical oncology disciplines. The upcoming session will focus on reviewing and discussing the latest scientific advancements and modern techniques in breast cancer surgery, grounded in current medical evidence and accredited international guidelines.
Key objectives of the event include promoting a Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) approach to improve healthcare quality and patient outcomes. It also aims to support Continuing Medical Education (CME) by offering accredited credit hours for general surgery and surgical oncology trainees, fellowship doctors, and M.D. candidates, while addressing common challenges in daily surgical practice through evidence-based solutions.
This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to elevate physicians' professional competencies and align surgical practices with global standards, with a dedicated focus on breast cancer as a major health challenge requiring integrated, interdisciplinary collaboration.
The scientific day targets consultant physicians, specialists, surgical oncology and general surgery trainees, and medical students, ensuring effective knowledge translation across all professional and educational levels.
The Deanship of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences invites all relevant healthcare professionals and academics to participate in this distinguished event, which represents a qualitative addition to the university's academic and research achievements and contributes to elevating community healthcare services.
