The Council of Department of Library and Information Science at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Sana'a University, convened its sixth regular meeting for the academic year 2026/2027. Chaired by the Head of Department, Professor Abdo Al-Mikhlafi, and attended by council members, the meeting focused on evaluating postgraduate academic matters, academic calendar and establishing appropriate administrative resolutions.

During the session, the council officially endorsed the Viva-voce committee's decision regarding a doctoral dissertation and formed a new defense committee for a master's thesis, marking the continuation of standardized academic procedures across the department's graduate programs.

Furthermore, the council designated specific courses requiring final practical examinations, mandating that practical scores be integrated into the final course evaluation alongside theoretical exams. This measure aims to ensure a comprehensive assessment of students' applied competencies and technical skills.

These decisions align with the department's ongoing efforts to enhance its educational and research frameworks, optimize academic assessment practices, and elevate the overall quality of its postgraduate outputs and scholarly achievements.
