Second-year students at the Faculty of Agriculture, Food, and Environment - Sana'a University conducted a practical field application on onion crop characterization. Held under the supervision of Eng. Ibraheem Al-Maz’al as part of the practical activities for the "Field Application" course, the session aimed to enhance students' scientific knowledge and develop their field skills in crop identification and morphological analysis.
The practical session covered key physical characteristics of the onion crop, including the root system, leaves, basal plate (disc stem), and vegetative growth habits. Students also studied plant growth stages and distinguishing crop features, helping them understand its botanical traits and differentiate it from other crops.
Additionally, the activity provided students with an opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge to direct field observation, training them to identify and document morphological traits according to scientific principles.
This activity reflects the Faculty of Agriculture, Food, and Environment's commitment at Sana'a University to advancing applied agricultural education, bridging academic coursework with field training, and equipping students with the practical skills needed to analyze crop characteristics—preparing qualified professionals for agricultural and research sectors.
