Under the supervision of Eng. Ibraheem Al-Mazaal, sophomore (second-year) students at the Faculty of Agriculture, Food, and Environment - Sana'a University completed a practical application on estimating seed purity percentages. This activity forms part of the field training program designed to enhance students' agricultural skills and bolster their preparation for the winter agricultural season.
The practical session included training students on scientific methods used in testing seed samples. This process involved separating pure seeds from impurities and foreign materials, weighing sample components, and calculating the purity percentage according to approved scientific standards and formulas.
The activity aims to equip students with the necessary technical skills to assess seed quality and determine its suitability for agricultural use. This enhances their ability to select appropriate seed stock, contributing to improved crop success rates and increased agricultural production efficiency.
This practical training aligns with the Faculty's commitment to advancing agricultural education by expanding field training opportunities and bridging theoretical knowledge with practical application, thereby preparing qualified agricultural professionals equipped with the scientific and practical skills required to meet the demands of the agricultural sector.
