Third-year students in the Department of Horticulture and Its Techniques at the Faculty of Agriculture, Food, and Environment, Sana’a University, conducted a practical experiment titled "Germination Rate: The Effect of Light on Lettuce and Tomato Seed Germination." The activity was carried out as part of the Vegetable Physiology course under the supervision of Eng. We'am Al-Misbahi.
The experiment aimed to examine the influence of light on the germination of lettuce and tomato seeds, evaluate seed responses to varying light conditions, and measure germination rates. This hands-on exercise enhances students' understanding of the physiological factors affecting seed germination and plant growth.
This practical session aligns with the Department of Horticulture and Its Techniques' commitment to strengthening the applied dimension of the educational process, bridging theoretical knowledge with practical applications, and developing students' skills in conducting agricultural experiments, observing outcomes, and analyzing data to prepare scientifically and practically qualified agricultural professionals.
