The dissertation aimed to develop a proposed framework for enhancing the roles of faculty members in Yemeni public universities in light of knowledge-based economy requirements.

The study findings showed that the level of integration of knowledge-based economy requirements into the performance of faculty members at Yemeni public universities—specifically in areas of scientific research, community engagement, training, and consulting— was generally low, whereas the perceived importance of incorporating these requirements into the same areas was very high.

Based on these findings, the researcher recommended the following:

• Activating the fields of the knowledge economy at Yemeni public universities in a way that is positively reflected in developing the roles of faculty members in scientific research, community engagement, training courses, and the provision of consultations.

The dissertation defense was attended by a number of academics, graduate students, researchers, as well as the researcher's colleagues and family members.
