*SANA'A, Yemen — October 4, 2026* — The Council of the Department of Islamic Studies at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Sana'a University, convened today for its fourth meeting of the academic year 2026/2027. The meeting was chaired by Department Head Dr. Abdullah Hassan Al-Razhi, with all council members in attendance.
The council addressed key agenda items, reviewing various academic and administrative affairs alongside strategic plans for upcoming research and scholarly initiatives.
In a major academic milestone, the council officially approved the Ph.D. program document across its four distinct tracks, having incorporated all essential revisions recommended by the University Quality Assurance Center. Additionally, members ratified the refined course specifications for the Master’s preparatory year following necessary quality enhancements.
The council also approved a series of postgraduate research proposals, authorized defense and examination decisions for several Master’s and Ph.D. dissertations, and finalized the admission files for new graduate candidates. Throughout the discussion, members emphasized the vital importance of organizing academic workflows, elevating educational standards, and actively supporting graduate students, while fostering interdepartmental collaboration to achieve the department's long-term vision. The meeting concluded with a commitment to ensuring the swift execution of all passed resolutions and maintaining continuous communication among faculty members.
