Third-year students from the Department of Horticulture and its Techniques at the Faculty of Agriculture, Food, and Environment - Sana’a University conducted a field visit to the faculty's fruit farm. The visit, carried out under the supervision of Lecturer Elyas Mana'a as part of the practical requirements for the Deciduous Fruit Production course, aimed to enhance students' scientific knowledge and strengthen their practical skills in fruit production.
The field practicum covered the identification of various deciduous fruit trees and their physiological characteristics. Students discussed key growth and production processes, examined prevalent diseases and challenges affecting these crops, and explored management strategies to mitigate their impact on yield.
The activity provided students with an opportunity to apply theoretical concepts in a real-world field setting, deepening their understanding of practical fruit crop management and problem diagnosis to enhance their analytical and observational capabilities.
This field training aligns with ongoing efforts by the Faculty of Agriculture, Food, and Environment at Sana’a University to promote experiential learning, integrate theoretical instruction with practical training, and prepare qualified agricultural professionals capable of advancing agricultural production and supporting development in Yemen.
