SANA’A, YEMEN — The Department of Horticulture and its Techniques at the Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment, Sana’a University, hosted a seminar today to review the Master’s thesis proposal (Seminar 1) submitted by graduate researcher Laila Abdulrahman Abdulmalek Al-Sharjabi.
The proposed study is titled:
“The Effect of Certain Medicinal and Aromatic Plant Extracts on Maintaining Post-Harvest Quality of Selected Horticultural Produce.”
The thesis is being conducted under the joint supervision of Prof. Hassan Al-Dobai, Chair of the Department of Horticulture and its Techniques, and Dr. Adel Al-Hejami, Main Supervisor.
The academic review and evaluation committee comprised:

During the defense session, Al-Sharjabi presented a comprehensive overview of her research proposal, outlining the core objectives, study significance, theoretical framework, literature review, underlying hypotheses, and proposed analytical methodologies. Following constructive feedback and technical evaluation from committee members, the proposal was officially approved.
The committee commended the researcher’s scholarly efforts and underscored the study's practical importance, noting its focus on identifying optimal plant-based alternatives for fruit coatings to preserve quality and extend post-harvest shelf life.
The seminar was attended by department faculty members, senior academic staff, and graduate students.
