Faculty of Mass Communication Marks Historic First at Sana'a University Research Awards as Dr. Hatem Al-Salhi Earns Top Honors

SANA'A, YEMEN — September 30, 2026

Sana’a University honored Dr. Hatem Ali Al-Salhi, a faculty member in the Faculty of Mass Communication, as part of its annual Science Day celebration recognizing 102 distinguished scholars and researchers.

The awards ceremony, attended by the Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Education and Scientific Research, celebrated faculty members who made significant research contributions between 2020 and 2025 by publishing in peer-reviewed international journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science.

Dr. Al-Salhi's recognition marks a major milestone for the Faculty of Mass Communication, securing its first-ever inclusion on the university’s top researcher list. Historically dominated by faculty from applied sciences and STEM disciplines, the annual list saw limited representation from humanities and social sciences. Dr. Al-Salhi’s inclusion underscores the growing impact and international reach of media research produced at Sana'a University.

Leadership at the Faculty of Mass Communication extended their congratulations to Dr. Al-Salhi, noting that this achievement serves as a vital catalyst for humanities researchers across the university to expand their presence in high-impact, globally indexed academic journals.
