Sana'a – Sana'a University Media Tuesday, September 8, 2026 (Rabi' al-Awwal 26, 1448 Hijri) Sana'a University Rector, Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, today, Tuesday, inaugurated the First Student Exhibition for Internet of Things Projects (NAWA 2026), organized by the Faculty of Computer and Information Technology with the participation of students from the Departments of Computer Science and Information Technology, in cooperation with the Science and Technology Center and the University Student Forum. In a speech delivered on the occasion, the Rector emphasized the importance of the student projects on display and the applied models they represent, which demonstrate the use of academic knowledge and technical skills to develop innovative solutions in the field of the Internet of Things. He called on students to continue developing their projects and to benefit from the rapid advances in science and technology to improve them, enhance opportunities for their practical application, and serve the community. During the event, the Rector and attendees viewed a number of the participating projects and listened to explanations from the students about their project ideas, how they work, and the technologies used in their implementation. They commended the students for the capabilities they demonstrated in design, programming, practical application, innovation, and teamwork. The opening ceremony was attended by the Rector's Cultural Advisor, Mr. Abdulsalam Al-Mutamayiz; the Rector's Assistant for Media Affairs, Mr. Adel Al-Hababi; the Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Technology, Dr. Ahmed Al-Shalabi; the Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Economics, Dr. Hani Al-Mughalles; the Director General of Student Activities and Youth Affairs, Mr. Abdulqader Al-Gharbani; the Director General of Projects, Eng. Abdulhakim Shamsan; the Secretary-General of the University Student Forum, Mr. Ali Alawi; and a number of faculty members and male and female students. The “NAWA 2026” exhibition aims to provide a practical space for showcasing students' creativity in the field of the Internet of Things and to transform scientific ideas and concepts into technical models and projects that can be further developed and applied. This contributes to strengthening students' skills in innovation, creativity, and teamwork, while linking academic learning with practical application. The exhibition continued until Wednesday, September 9, 2026, providing students and interested visitors with an opportunity to view the projects and learn about the technical ideas and applications presented by students of the Faculty of Computer and Information Technology.
